Does Salford have a part-time Chief Executive ?

It was sensationally revealed by a Mayoral candidate that Salford City Council's Chief Executive staggeringly receives £200,000 PA of which £50,000 is paid by GMP ?


The Community Action Party candidate for Salford Mayor Michael Moulding asks the question "Is the incompetence of Salford City Council's Chief Executive who earns an astonishing £200,000 as a result of the fact that she may be a part-time Chief Executive ?"

A mayoral candidate at the BBC Mayoral Debate who is a sitting councillor sensationally revealed that Salford City Council's Chief Executive Barbara Spicer earns a staggering £200,000 PA which we all knew but what we did not know is that she is paid £50,000 of that from Greater manchester Police.

Recently, the Chief Executive presided over a Council that broke the law in relation to the Mayoral Referendum and presided over a farce as Returning Officer for this election where thousands of postal ballots were delivered city wide before the Mayoral Pamphletts meaning many people cast their vote without receiving the full information.

Michael Moulding, the Community Action Party candidate for Salford Mayor says "Why does the Council's Chief Executive receive £50,000 PA from GMP ? What work is she doing for that and does Salford have a part-time Chief Executive ?"

Michael Moulding has confirmed that in the event he is elected as Mayor Barbara Spicer will not be needed in her current role and any future role would be reviewed and down-graded accordingly. END

The salary paid to Spicer is obscene . She gets paid more than the Prime Minister . The role of CEO must be abolished . Spicer must be got rid of . Getting a £50,000 Bung from GMP could lead to<br /> conflict of interest . Will she be prosecuted for the council breaking the law ? Surely being responsible for breaking the law is a sackable offence . She must be sacked , without compensation .
